not abstract data tower

data centre architecture has been generally banned from the city. relocating these data transmission devices allows their reality to become actuality.

a spatial layering of the visible and the invisible. different disruptions and emissions start to overlap and influence each other. traffic flows, financial services and logistics intermingle with each other. to the public, these places are seemingly in-accessible and unattractive, although the opposite is proven in the near surroundings of the zhdk beneath the train bridges. the denominator is clear: flows and data. but what is the contribution of overlapping frequencies and data infrastructures? is it just a question of time until these remaining actors are banished to a distant deserted location? it is utterly important that synergies and, above all, the awareness of mutual existence and tolerance are promoted.

the relationship between work and its result as well as re-source consumption for everyday needs has disappeared from our eyes. everything is moving into the cloud that is everywhere and yet nowhere. the result should be visible and its infrastructure should offer added value beyond its primary use. machines that do not harm humans but interact with them, should play an important role in the urban fabric as well as our community. rather than hiding the excesses of our actions positive synergies should be created in order to gain an understanding as well as unlock new potentials. the creator and the created must enter into a new symbiosis!
